A well-known and respected name when it comes to traveling, TripAdvisor has an equally helpful mobile app. It provides reviews of hotels, restaurants and attractions; lets users browse for ideas on what to do or order; and gives tips from past travelers. While not all reviews are helpful, it’s a good place for any traveler to start the planning process.
Gogobot
Gogobot is an app for recommendations on dining, lodging and entertainment. It puts travelers into “tribes” based on travel styles and gives suggestions based on what people with similar travel styles have enjoyed. It connects directly to booking sites for an easy reservation process and is available in the App Store and Google Play.
Conde Nast Traveler’s Gold List
Conde Nast Traveler’s app is a database of every hotel, resort, cruise, restaurant and bar recommended in issues of the magazine. The information is organized based on destination and also includes recommendations from VITs, or Very Important Travelers. It’s database is updated quarterly, so you’ll be sure to have recent information.
TravelSafe
While many travelers focus on the fun attractions to see and delicious restaurants to try, it’s important to remember safety. TravelSafe is an app that compiles emergency numbers for countries all of the world, provides access to police and ambulances, and has the contact information for every embassy should a traveler be faced with any passport issue.
TripIt
TripIt allows users to plan everything in regards to their trip- from creating itineraries to share with family and friends, to finding the best rental car deal. It can automatically sync with calendars, send flight reminders and is available in every smartphone device.
